The ASH - AI Pocket Field Guide is an AI tool inspired by the Pokedex concept, designed to help children explore and learn about nature.

Developed as a response to the accelerating loss in global biodiversity, ASH aims to educate the new generation of ecology guardians on the importance of protecting biodiversity.

Through hands-on, discovery-led play, ASH harnesses the modern interaction of a point-and-click digital camera that encourages children to take photos of the life-forms around them.

Using AI, it subsequently transforms these photos into information-rich animal cards, spanning from house pets to plants and rare bugs.

Besides engaging the children, this tool is designed with controls for parents to have supervision over the data collected by their children, thus ensuring their safety and security as they interact with ASH.

The ASH device has been developed using cutting-edge technology like SLS 3D printers and a Coral board from Google running the iNaturalist dataset for species recognition.
